Although I believe in and practice the Informed Consent for Access to Trans Health model (ICATH), I am aware that World Professional Association for Transgender Health’s (WPATH) standards require letters of readiness for some gender affirming surgeries. Therefore, I offer gender affirming letter-writing services.
What to Expect
Letter-writing appointments are 55 minutes long.
Scheduling is typically done over the phone or by email. You will be asked to provide your preferred and legal name(s), as well as your birthdate. Once this information is received, my records system, TherapyAppointment, will send you an invitation to create a client account. It is through this account that you’ll complete the necessary paperwork and have access to the telehealth platform, client portal, and a secure messaging system. I ask that all necessary paperwork be completed five business days prior to your appointment.
You will log into your Therapy Appointment client portal at your scheduled appointment time. There will be a button you can click to start the session. We will review the consent forms and you will have an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about it. I will then conduct a clinical interview and review the gender affirming surgery questionnaire that you completed prior to your appointment with you to ensure that I have all of the necessary information needed to write a proper letter. Letters are typically received within five business days.
Insurance & Fees Policy
I am an in-network provider for many insurance companies. Please contact your insurance company directly to see if I am in your network. If I am an out-of-network provider for your insurance company and you choose to use your insurance, I will submit the claims directly to your health insurance provider, if you wish. As an out-of-network provider, services may be covered in full or in part by your insurance company. Any fees that are not covered by the insurance is the client’s responsibility. The client will be charged the remaining balance. It is the client’s responsibility to check with their insurance company to determine coverage.
